I haven't forgotten about this blog..

I've just been extremely busy. I had my trip to Chicago, then I was in Detroit for a weekend, then in Indianapolis, immediately followed by 16 days in Arizona/New Mexico.

Things have changed. I've gained 10 lbs, which I'm happy about.. I've gained it in all the right places ;). I'm changing, I'm seeing things in new ways. And as of today, I'm single.

This is a new leaf I'm turning over.

More Indy Goodies..

That top one was really just supposed to be a light test. Gary is so awesometastic <3.

Denver

While I was in Denver, I had the opportunity to work with Mark Cafiero. He is a professional wedding photographer, and he had never done the art nude thing. I LOVE when I am the first art nude model somebody works with, as they try something new or branch out. It's a real honor that they decide to take a step in that direction with me of all people.

Mark wanted to do something abstract & fun, so he had these little toy cars he brought for some bodyscapes.

We also did some more traditional arty stuff, and I think it came out beautifully. These shots below have gotten some really nice comments on my flickr, and I am a fan of them myself!

I really love how he captured the texture of my skin & my curls, and all my freckles!

Mark was a lot of fun to work with as well, and he brought his doggy with him. A Doberman Pinscher named "Gary" of all things! I asked him why he gave his dog such a typical "people" name. He said he threw it out there as a joke when he was thinking up names, and it stuck, and that he has a friend with a dog named "Dave." Too funny! I used to have a cat named "Jennifer" when I was a little girl.

Anyways, I just wanted to share these pictures and show some love for Mark, who I hope I get to work with again next time I'm in town!

P A I N T M E

I want to be painted so bad! I do love working with photographers, but working with artists would be great.

Today on Facebook, I did the "Pick 5" thing.. for my favorite artists.

Who did I choose?

Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georgia O'Keeffe & Norman Rockwell.

I like each of them for very different reasons.

San Francisco Bay

Pat Ramos is a very fun girl, and she took this lovely shot of me during our day in the sunshine together.

Indianapolis

As I said before, I went back up there on a weekend in late February with Gary. There was this great studio I had shot in when I was there in January by myself, staying with Travis and modeling. I fell in love with the studio, and the cool vintage couch. I recommended that Gary borrow the space to shoot Stephy C in, since Indy was a nice city for them to meet in. Gary having the staircase fetish he does (not seriously, I just tease him), he mostly shot Stephy in the stairwell.

I wanted him to get some quick shots of me on the cool couch before Stephy got there. I got to model on it before, but I never really know when or if I'll get any pictures back from the shoots I do. Unless I do them with Gary, because he has to edit my shots.. I know where he lives ;).
Needless to say, I absolutely love how these came out, even if it was just a quick little thing we did for a few minutes. He sent me countless shots from that, all of them amazing.

The one that is above showcased on OMP the other day, and I titled it "Head Over Heels For You." I keep wanting to stare at it, because I think everything about it is perfect. I love the pose I am doing (which was my idea, and Gary perfectly captured it). I love the way that it is framed. I love the light above me.. I wanted that in the shot, I'm glad Gary helped bring my vision to life ;). I love the textures of the bricks, the brocade couch, the wood floor, and my smooth skin.

Then I really wanted to recreate an older shot I had done with our friend Varzity Photo in Cincinnati, as a tribute to him. Gary was kind enough to drive me down to that shoot & hang out while I got shot with cool Olympus gear. The hotel wallpaper & carpet & chair fabric wasn't my favorite, though. And I thought this studio set-up really worked for the shot :).

I'm going back to Indianapolis soon, to stay with Travis again, and this time will be even more fun.. because I will have my Gumby with me.

Nebraska

One of the many cool things about Andrew J. Baran.. is that he will immediately edit shots of you that you will love.. but also, on down the road a bit, he will later send more pretty peektures from your previous shoot. And you'll be like, "YAY!" Because it's a nice little surprise in your inbox. While other fuckers still owe you pictures from like a year ago but haven't sent any. But we won't go there ;). Just work with Andrew if you ever do have the chance.

These are from my first trip to Nebraska, in October of 2008. It's such a beautiful, peaceful state. These weren't taken in Omaha. We went to an old factory that was quite a drive to get to, but well worth it ;).
